If we’re scoring only and exclusively by volume of shots landed, the fellow with the face shield may have edged it. He just threw a lot more stuff. Changing kicks to be two or three points rather than one doesn’t change this calculation: there were like a dozen punches thrown by both fighters for every kick in evidence.
If we’re allowed to consider accuracy, power, clean connections, effective defense, and other intangibles, no-face-shield by a country mile. I would rather let the other guy hit me for thirty seconds than have him after me for five.
